Dear Participants:

    Many of you wanted to know more detailed information on the hotels, 
    type of accomodations available etc. Some preferred accomodation with
    old world charm than modern tourist hotels. Here are some information
    we have compiled for you to make your selection easier. They are all in
    the category of classes A and B as mentioned in our second circular.

	  Current Exchange rate : 1 US$ = Rs. 35


CATEGORY A
______________

1. Hotel Jai Mahal Palace: This is an old palace converted to a hotel and
   presently run by the Taj group of hotels. Situated within about 3 kms
   from the conference venue. Is somewhat expensive:
   Single: US$ 150, Double: US$ 170, plus 10% tax.

2. Hotel Clarks Amer : A good modern 5-star hotel with all the amenities. 
   Situated in a calm environment, about 10 km from the conference venue 
   and 3 km from airport. Price is economical and hence recommended. 
	standard rooms : single Rs 2800, double Rs 3150
	delux    rooms : single Rs 3500, double Rs 3850
        plus taxes (10%). 


   In addition there are several other 5-star hotels like: 
   The Rambagh Palace (the most expensive in Jaipur, also a palace turned 
                       into a hotel, huge rooms) and 
   The Rajputana Palace Sheraton (not a palace really, a good modern tourist 
                       hotel, in the price range of USD 120 plus taxes).


CATEGORY B

1. Jaipur Palace : A good modern 3-star hotel (not a palace) with all 
   the amenuities.  Situated about 3 km from the conference site.
	Single room : Rs 1195, Double 1850, taxes extra.

2. Khasa Kothi : A hotel with a distinction : old building with large
   rooms. Prices similar to Jaipur Palace. Some special suits also
   available, a little more expensive. Situated around 3 kms from the
   conference site.



A VILLAGE RESORT : Chokhi Dhani

   Chokhi Dhani is an ethnic village resort, having a class of its own. 
   Strongly recommended for those seeking some old world charm. Situated 
   about 18 kms from the conference venue in a nearby village, it has 
   little huts in an old village setting but having rooms with all the
   modern facilities, including swimming pool, bar, health club etc. The
   Haveli has excellent rooms/suites and other huts have also several
   different kinds of acccomodation. Old style furniture. 
   Prices range from: about US$ 35 for Single occupancy ordinary rooms to 
   about US$ 100 for double occupancy suites in the Haveli. 
   If the response for this hotel is good (at least 8-10 participants) 
   then we shall try to arrange transport. If only a few people opt for 
   this, we may charge a little extra for the transport. The hotel provides 
   transport for the residents from and to the airport/train station.



Note:

   All the hotels in category A and B have hot water supply in the rooms 
   and also swimming pools. Category A hotels are equipped with bath tubs, 
   whereas category B hotels may have only showers in the attached bath rooms.

   Clarks Amer and Chokhi Dhani, depending on your choice whether you 
   like a modern tourist hotel with 5-star facilities or see an Indian 
   village resort.


   Please do send us the accomodation request form
   even if you are booking your hotel thru your own travel agent. This is 
   important for us to estimate the transport and other logistics 
   requirements for bringing all the participants to the conference venue 
   in time.
